'BLINDS' PROCESs

Recycled glass bottles from the French Embassy in Copenhagen were cleaned, crushed into small pieces or powder, and melted using the ancient pâte de verre technique

Using the ancient pâte de verre technique, the process began by crushing the glass into small pieces or powder, then melting it into a paste or a rougher consistency, depending on the desired texture. This method, which dates back more than 3,000 years, allows the glass to take on new shapes with a frosted, matte surface rather than the clear transparency of traditional glass.

Each bottle was carefully cleaned, prepared, and transformed, freeing it from its original purpose. The finished glass pieces were installed in windows, layering glass on glass. The installation interacts with light, emphasizing transparency while obscuring the view, creating something foreign and puzzling.

"Blinds" reflects on the complexities of recycling, the challenges of working with old materials, and the paradoxes of sustainability and consumption.
